HexploreIt II - The Forests of Adrimon - Roguelike True Solo Tutorial Campaign (WIP)

CURRENT STATUS: WIP document. Nearly done, formatting is next. Then I plan to work out an actual turn, what you can do after setup.

The Forests of Adrimon is the second board game released in the HexploreIt title, and is an overland adventure in a fantasy setting for 1-6 heroes taking 6 hours.  Sadly I was I found the rules as written (RAW) unstructured, needlessly complex, conditions and exeptions were scattered all over the place, indexes were missing, setup and combat were incomprehensible and... well it was a complete mess.

So in order to be able to enjoy the product as intended, I had to completely dissect the game and restructure the content, and present it in a clear steps how to get it done. For a game of 5 years old I had honestly expected someone would have already done just that, but alas, no. Anyway.

Result is that now you have:

1. Clear step by ste p instructions on setup and first steps assuming nothing but the base game.
2. Other goals than always defeating Adrimon; gameplay duration cut dramatically, no longer taking an entire evening;
3. User friendly drop off and pick up - months later you can simply pick up on where you left.
4. Mark your progress forever on this handy dandy video-game-inspired Achievement sheet and enjoy the boons on your next run!

This is version 1.2.2

Future plans are to integrate more (optional) components based on their popularity.

This prooject cost me roughly the first half of Summer 2024. about 40 hours a week. Design, streamlining, reordering rules properly... It was a lot of work, and I suspect that is the reason nobody managed to pull it off since 2019 (the last 5 years).

Future plans:

I intend to complete the WIP, once that's done I will take it off-line, and when I'm sure everything works will republish it but then no longer for free.
